About Me

 

Personal Trainer, Nutrition Specialist, Wife, Health Coach, Dog Mom, Boxing Bootcamp Instructor- I am Amber. I am a Jersey-girl turned New Yorker who left a corporate job to pursue a career in fitness and wellness. I knew I had a higher purpose and it wasn’t being spent behind a desk. I enjoy spending my days making people stronger, leaner & healthier at the best boxing gym in Manhattan (Work Train Fight).

My passion for fitness started when I was 17,  a lazy teenager who ate whatever. I felt unhealthy, fat, had self esteem issues. I joined a gym as my senior year was coming to an end and soon after I was hooked. I loved working out, It felt good to be active. During my college years I secretly battled an eating disorder and an unhealthy gym addiction. I was going to the gym two times a day, eating under 1,000 calories. Carbs were the enemy, fat was going to make me fat and protein was going to make me look like a man. My hair stopped growing, my skin was horrible, I went from a size 7 to a size 0 - I felt terrible.

 Luckily, I was able to see what I was doing to myself and decided that was enough. I had to get healthy and stop thinking skinny was everything.  I stopped reading fitness magazines published by men and women who only sought aesthetics and started reading books about wholesome nutrition, fitness books written by knowledgeable athletes. The further I indulged my mind into this wholesome lifestyle, the more I fell in love with wellness. The more I read and studied, the more I realized how important nutrition- specifically each macronutrient is, physical activity is and how our society struggles to live optimally.  I changed my diet, I abandoned the cardio lifestyle, ventured into the weight room and never looked back. 

I soon became heavily involved in the natural bodybuilding world, working and training along side some of the best athletes in the industry. This deepened my knowledge and love for the health and fitness world. Over the last seven years, fitness and nutrition became such apart of who I was. I soon left my corporate job and became a NASM certified Personal Trainer, a Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist and enrolled myself back in school for a masters in nutrition.
